Dr. Nicole Doria is the Sandbox Manager for the Pulse BioMed Hub. She holds a PhD in Health from Dalhousie University and was awarded both a CIHR Health System Impact Fellowship and a Canada Postdoctoral Research Award to support her postdoctoral training at Unity Health Toronto and the University of Toronto.

Professor J. Paul Santerre is director of the Pulse Biomed Hub, as of January 2026. He has published >245 peer reviewed publications in the area of medical polymers. He has trained over 85 graduate students and generated over $61M in grant funding. He is co-founder and former director of the Health Innovation Hub at the University of Toronto (a student focused entrepreneur training co-curricular program that has trained > 850 client health science companies which have generated > $650M Cdn).

Dr. Sebastian Himbert is a biophysicist and biotechnology entrepreneur specialized in the development of advanced drug delivery systems. He is a Co-Founder of Synth-Med Biotechnology Inc., a Toronto-based preclinical startup dedicated to revolutionizing how therapeutics reach the brain and other difficult-to-treat areas of the body.
